For a day at the lake: 
One of our favorite getaways on a hot summer day is South Twin Lake along the Cascade Lakes Highway. Just a half hour drive from Sunriver, it provides the perfect oasis for a picnic and a day of swimming, kayaking, and relaxation. This year, we went up to Cultus Lake for a day of boating/tubing, kayaking, geocaching, and dining at the lovely Cultus Lake Resort. Well worth the almost one-hour drive from Sunriver.
Up for a bike ride to Benham Falls?
An easy ride for anyone who can ride a mountain bike, this trip takes about an hour from Oregon Loop Lodge. Just go toward circle 7, and follow the signs to Benham Falls trail. Bring water, a camera, and a snack to keep everyone happy!
Summer Operations at Mount Bachelor
I know Mt. Bachelor is awesome for skiing in the winter, but it has it's pleasures in summer too. You can ride the lift, have a great meal, play disc golf, and more. Click here for more info.
